However, the difference here is that Bluehost US & Bluehost India, even if they are part of the same company, offer different products and interfaces. Since the brand and everything else looks the same, many of us buy the hosting from Bluehost India.

Before canceling and deleting your Bluehost account, here are a few things you should know:

  • The cancellation only applies to the hosting package.
  • Your domain will stay with Bluehost India, which is not a big deal as you can always change the nameservers to point to a different hosting.
  • You can transfer the domain to any domain registrar after 60 days. However, this is not necessary.
  • The hosting package can only be canceled within the first 30 days of your purchase.
  • If you’ve already created a site, make a full backup before canceling.
  • If it is a WordPress site that you created on Bluehost India, you can follow this guide to backup and move your site to your new hosting.

First, login to your Bluehost India hosting control panel by going to manage.bluehost.in.


Click Manage Order> List / Search Orders.

Click on the domain name you want to cancel.

Click on Continue.

Your deletion request will be added to the queue and processed pending validation.

As indicated in step 2, contact the support team via live chat to validate the request in the next 15 days.

If you do not do this within 15 days, your request will be invalid.

The problem with their live chat support is that it takes a long time to connect. In my case, I had to wait for 15 minutes and couldn’t connect. This is when I decided to call their support team.

The first number I called was 0824-661-4333 for their technical support team and they asked me to call their sales team. This is when I contacted their sales team on 022-712-21660 and asked them to cancel my hosting package. The lady on the other end asked me to do the step mentioned above and pass the request via live chat. I told her I had been waiting for live chat for more than 15 minutes and there was no luck.

At that point, she said she would arrange a call in 10 minutes. While I was waiting for the call, which I never received, I started another live chat window and this time I was lucky because the live chat got connected within 10 minutes.

Within 5 minutes, the support agent canceled my order.

This will take about 10-15 minutes to execute and once your order is deleted you can proceed to receive a refund.

Getting a refund from Bluehost India

Once your order has been canceled, the refunded amount will be refunded to your Bluehost India account. You can go to My Billing> Withdraw Money to see the balance in your account and also to request a refund in your bank account.

If you don’t need to return the money to your bank account, you can use it to renew or purchase new domains.

Add the amount you want to withdraw.

Click Process Refund and your request will be submitted.

The Bluehost billing team will process the request shortly. Your money will be transferred to the same account from which it was received.

You will also receive an email to delete your hosting and withdraw money.

Now you are free to host your site on Bluehost US or any other hosting company.
