Free Blog Article (2021)

Getting a significant web presence can be a costly affair, especially if you need an important website that needs to be created from scratch. However, building the site is just the start of all expenses (do forget the nt web hosting).

New content must be added regularly to attract visitors. Writing new and relevant content for a site is a full-time activity for many, and it is often unrealistic for people with other tasks to write weekly posts that can be up to a thousand words or more.

Fortunately, there are resources of free content that you can use on a website, although not all sites can make use of them.

To be clear, the content we’re talking about isn’t something you’d put up front on your site to get people in – it’s something you can use to fill deeper pages and make the site look more substantial.

However, we must make it clear that this type of content does not meet the same standards as professionally designed material – the latter costs a lot, while this content is completely free.

Before we get into, we should also point out that using work without permission can have serious legal implications, so make sure that whatever you use is truly copyright free.

With all that in mind, here are six ways to find free content for your site.

  • We’ve picked the best web hosting services here
  • These are the best free web hosting companies around
  • We’ve recommended the best website builder software

1. Free stuff

There are those who are just happy to be published, and contribute them to sites like EzineArticles, where you find content written on a very wide variety of topics that you can reuse for free.

Currently, the site claims to have just over 500,000 ‘expert authors’ offering a huge selection of works for you to use freely.

The content will remain on the EzineArticles.com site you link to.

We tested the service by conducting a search on the topic of ‘building surfboards’ and it yielded 740 surf-related articles, although not specifically about building boards.

Less obscure topics generated even more potential content, and sometimes the site found just the topic it needed.

As you would reasonably expect, the quality of these articles is often not the best, and they may very well show up on multiple other sites that have found them before – but they are free.

EzineArticles isn’t the only source for free articles. Here are five others that are popular, although we suspect some content will be duplicated on these sites.

  • Amazines – Covers everything from Feng Shui to Food & Beverages
  • Article Sphere – Generates an RSS feed for any topic
  • ArticleCity – Lots of content, and it is presented professionally
  • Article Factory – A good selection of technical pieces

2. Free Images Searching for

suitable images not being copyrighted can be difficult. But there are many very good resources that allow their images to be used freely without permission.

These are just a few of the many sites that offer bitmap graphics and photos for you to use freely. There are many more.

  • Pixabay
  • Unsplash Pexels Pixel
  • Based
  • Negative Space In addition to

images, there are also some sources of copyright-free vector images that can be easily scaled down to any size.

Here are a few to get you started.

  • Stockio
  • Vexels
  • Vector4Free
  • Vector Portal

3. Copyright Free Musicmusic

Adding To a video makes a big difference in how professional it looks, and using commercial soundtracks can be alarmingly expensive.

Fortunately, there are plenty of free sources that can provide music that doesn’t come with a hefty price tag, although some may ask for artist recognition in the credits or notes.

Here are a few links to get you some music you can use without worrying about copyright infringement. Most are free or cost very little per song.

  • YouTube
  • Free
  • Audio Library stock music TeknoAxe
  • Machinima Sound
  • Amazon

4. Free Videos

A video may seem very specific to record, but there are many clips you can find the equivalent of moving stock photos.

Those looking to create an atmosphere or mood may find these very useful, and there are some very high quality examples to be found.

Try these sites if you need a free video for your website.

  • Pexels Video
  • Stock Footage 4 Free
  • Pixabay
  • Clipstill
  • Videezy
  • Video Blog Writers

5. Ask it

This may seem cheeky, but many are happy to have their work reused or linked to it, as long as you don’t try to make the work yours.

Search for an article on a particular topic, then compose an email to the author asking them to reuse or link to the piece. They can only say no, and if they are interested in getting more people to read their blog, that’s an unlikely scenario.

The only major hurdles you may face is if the site is run by someone who doesn’t think your business is ethical, or if it’s sponsored by a competitor.

Make sure you communicate clearly what you intend to do with their work, and hope they are happy with your interest.

Sending 10 of these emails and getting a few positive responses is a valuable exercise that will enable you to find quality work without paying for its creation.

6. Idea Generators

Sometimes content is easy enough to write, but coming up with ideas is the challenge.

There are a number of sites that can provide you with a selection of keywords, and then come up with a range of possible titles for those pieces. One of the best is SEOPressor, the Blog Title Generator.

All you need to do is enter a few words, define if they are just general terms or are relevant to the brand, celebrity or industry, and click the Generate Titles button.
